By practicing moving focused awareness within yourself by using the Grounding App, you gain the ability to rest your awareness in your brain's Default Mode Network regions, thereby becoming more neutral to situations and maintaining psychological and even physical balance and health.
The main areas of the Default Mode Network are shown in orange in the fMRI below. These areas are activated when the mind is free of disturbance.
In the same way you can focus your awareness on your foot, your knee, your heart, or your throat, you can focus your awareness in the front and back of your head to activate the Default Mode Network. The Grounding App is perfect for this kind of training. You learn to do it in many postures including lying down, sitting, standing, and walking.
